The City of Chicago has named November 21, 2015 Joel Hall Day in Chicago in honor of Chicago's very own dancer, choreographer, instructor and director of the Joel Hall Dance Center.
This day was celebrated at the Auditorium Theater where the Joel Hall Dancers performed "Lush Life: The Music of Billy Strayhorn," which also served as the finale to the month long Billy Strayhorn Festival to celebrate the life and music of an American Jazz legend.

Joel Hall and the Joel Hall Dance Center have been creating an engaged community of dancers, artists, and audiences in Chicago. One of the missions of the center is to make the artistic expression of dance approachable, accessible, and participatory to all of Chicago.
