The Mary-Arrchie Theater Company, established 1986, was a Chicago storefront theater in the Uptown neighborhood. Richard Cotovsky was a founding member and the Artistic Director for 30 years. Richard was born and raised in Chicago's West Rogers Park neighborhood. He studied at UIC and is an alumnus of Second City.
The final production of the Mary-Arrchie Theater was "American Buffalo," the work of the Chicago born playwright, David Mamet. "American Buffalo" is set in Chicago and was an inspiration to Richard early in his career.
Richard Cotovsky's honorary sign was dedicated in 2016, the year the theater closed, near where the theater was located.
